Film Poster Development

I wanted to experiment with a black silhouette and then have an establishing shot of a city location inside similar to the image on the Alex Cross film poster. I adjusted the colour levels using an online tutorial.

I removed the background from my image using the magic wand and marquee tolls. I then experimented and adjusted the colour levels of the image to make it completely black.

I also experimented with having a black silhouette in front of the city image or to have the city image pasted inside the black silhouette. This alludes to the narrative of my action thriller film because most ransom notes are cut up letters from magazines.  I firstly started by creating a black silhouette of an image that I had taken and then merged it onto another image of a cityscape that I took. I then found a text that I liked for the title of my film and pasted it inside the silhouette so that it looked like it had been cut out, much like most ransom notes are cut out letters from magazines and newspapers.
I copied and pasted the black silhouette image and added a blur so it looked less like it was cut out from the page. I then added the institutional information at the bottom of the page and experimented with the kerning to make the text fit the page better.
