Evaluation Question 3 - What have you learned from your audience feedback?
From my audience feedback I have learnt that the combination of my print products is effective as they are familiar for the audience and can be easily recognised. My target audience like the colour scheme and housestyle of my final print products as they are a good indicator of the action thriller genre. The first bit of audience feedback I got was to identify the gender of my target audience and to conduct research into what their favourite genre of film is. This influenced the decision making process of my coursework as I found out that the majority of my audience preferred action films and that a lot of them tend to watch films in their free time too. I also asked for their feedback on the plot for my film, but they wanted to know more about what happened to the girl who gets kidnapped. When it came to plotting my final trailer, I made sure that there was more detail surrounding the girl who is taken, by involving the addition of a ransom fee to get her back. They all said that my plot fit in with the action thriller genre and that they would go and see it when it came out. Overall, from this feedback I learnt what my audience wanted to gain from my film and so I made sure that I delivered this through my final products.
I also asked for audience feedback on my film logo and production logo ideas. I found which 'Thrilling Productions' logo my audience preferred and therefore used this as an inter title when creating my final theatrical trailer. I also found out which 'Ransom' logo my audience preferred and did initially take this feedback forward, but when I was improving my final products I opted for a font that stood out more and made sure that this was consistent throughout my print products.
I also gained more audience feedback on my final products, so that I could find out if I had met the audience needs and gave them what they wanted from the print products and trailer for an action thriller film.

The significant audience feedback I received on my final products is to make the text on some of my print products stand out more, so that they are easier for the audience to read.

Billboard Development
I used an image of a city which I took from the top of Birmingham library and used this as my background image. I then pasted the image inside the letters of RANSOM, so it again looked like they had been cut out like a ransom note, but they were harder to see. I changed the colour of the image so rather than making it lighter, I darkened it to fit in with my other products, which also have the same, dark background. I used film festival laurels and made sure that the name of the actors stood out at the top. I used the same black silhouette to keep a consistent house style to my products, so the audience can easily tell that they are related and that they are advertising the film Ransom.

Trailer Development
I changed the soundtrack of my theatrical trailer to a track with more of a crescendo so that more tension was built throughout. I got the new track from a royalty free music website - machinimasound. The track was produced by Per Kiilstofte and so I will give credit to them when uploading my trailer to YouTube. I also got in contact with the company to ask for permission to use the track, provided I gave credit to the artist which I have done.

Film Poster Development
I wanted to experiment with a black silhouette and then have an establishing shot of a city location inside similar to the image on the Alex Cross film poster. I adjusted the colour levels using an online tutorial.
I removed the background from my image using the magic wand and marquee tolls. I then experimented and adjusted the colour levels of the image to make it completely black.

I also experimented with having a black silhouette in front of the city image or to have the city image pasted inside the black silhouette. This alludes to the narrative of my action thriller film because most ransom notes are cut up letters from magazines. I firstly started by creating a black silhouette of an image that I had taken and then merged it onto another image of a cityscape that I took. I then found a text that I liked for the title of my film and pasted it inside the silhouette so that it looked like it had been cut out, much like most ransom notes are cut out letters from magazines and newspapers.
I copied and pasted the black silhouette image and added a blur so it looked less like it was cut out from the page. I then added the institutional information at the bottom of the page and experimented with the kerning to make the text fit the page better.
